Who Course is Suitable for
This course is suitable for anyone who manages a team or project in the workplace. It is likely that learners at this level will have some prior experience in a supervisory or team leader role, or experience deputising in a managerial role. This includes in business, charities, educational establishments, NHS and other organisations.
The course covers the skills and knowledge requirements to perform effectively in this role. Units include:
Managing’ performance, chairing meetings, managing conflict, collaborating with other departments, networking, learning and development, quality audits, budgeting, managing risk, recruitment, presentations, business improvement, event management and more.
Learners will also be expected to complete 5 mandatory units:
- Manage Team Performance
- Principles of People Management
- Principles of Business
- Principles of Leadership and Management
- Manage Personal and Professional Development
Course Duration and QCF Credit Value
9 months. A minimum of 55 credits
Assessments will be carried out with you throughout the course. These may consist of work products, observations, discussions, questioning, witness statements, reflective learning journals and others. All assessments are planned with you beforehand. At level 3, the learner would be expected to take at least some autonomy for deciding a suitable assessment strategy and coming up with appropriate evidence. We are able to make adjustments to assessments to take account of the needs of individual learners, for instance dyslexia or a physical disability. Please ask your assessor about this.
