Health and Social Care – Care Certificate
Programme Outline
This training is aimed at those working in the care sector or those who want to work in the care sector. It will help develop the learner’s confidence and knowledge to ensure they provide safe, compassionate care. The training will cover all 15 standards:
- Understanding your role
- Personal development
- Duty of care
- Equality and diversity
- Work in a person centred way
- Communication
- Privacy and dignity
- Fluids and nutrition
- Awareness of mental health, dementia and learning disabilities
- Safeguarding adults
- Safeguarding children
- Basic life support
- Health and safety
- Handling information
- Infection prevention and control
How long will it take?
The training will consist of 1-week in-house training from 10 am to 4.30pm, this will be classroom based. During this time frame, you will be provided with a work placement if you do not already have one. This will consist of a voluntary placement with the possibility of employment upon completion. You will have 12 weeks to complete the care certificate and the assessor will come to observe you at your placement.
