Health and Social Care – Diabetes Introduction

Programme Outline

The course will help those who have family, friends or work with individuals who have diabetes. It will help to develop knowledge and skills to support individuals to have a better quality of life. During the course you will learn about:

  • Recognizing symptoms of diabetes, and how it can be diagnosed
  • Treating diabetes through lifestyle and medication and what to do if not under control
  • Monitoring diabetes, both by healthcare professionals and by the patient
  • Recognizing people at risk of complications associated with diabetes

How long will it take?

This course will take place 10am-4pm, it can take place either at a workplace or the training centre.
